The fire at the power plant continues. Rescuers and power engineers are working at the site.

Russian troops have struck hydro facilities and the Dnieper hydro electric dam in Zaporizhzhya Region, there is no threat of a dam breach. This was reported by Ukrhydroenergo on 22 March.

Early this morning, Russian missiles once again once again attacked numerous facilities across Ukraine, including the energy sector. Unfortunately, there is a hit on the largest hydroelectric power plant in Ukraine - DneproHES in Zaporozhye. Non-humans have not calmed down by destroying the Kakhovskaya HPP, and are now trying to create a new environmental disaster by cynically hitting the hydraulic structures of the Dnieper HPP and the dam," the report says.

Now the fire at the station continues. Emergency services and power engineers are working on the site, overcoming the consequences of numerous airstrikes.

There is no threat of a breakthrough. The situation at the dam of the station is controlled, - said in Ukrhydroenergo.

The director-general of Ukrhydroenerho Ihor Sirota has said that this morning, 22 March, there was a missile attack on Dnipro hydroelectric power plant.

Now there is damage to both plants and the dam. There is a direct hit of two missiles in Dnipro HPP-2. A hit in the support. Crane beams are broken. Both stations are not working yet. There are no casualties among the employees of Dnipro HPP," said Igor Sirota.

He noted that now the station is taking all measures to raise the gates and allow water to flow downstream of the Dnieper. Ukrhydroenergo will be able to give a final assessment in some time, when the fire is eliminated.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported the total number of enemy missiles and drones that the occupants fired on the territory of Ukraine.

During this night there were more than 60 "shaheds" and almost 90 missiles of various types. The world sees the targets of Russian terrorists as clearly as possible: power plants and power supply lines, a hydroelectric dam, ordinary residential houses, even a trolleybus. Russia is fighting against ordinary people's lives," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko said that the attack on Ukraine's energy sector on the night of 21-22 March in Ukraine was the largest in a long time.

Unfortunately, there are hits and damage to generation facilities, power transmission and distribution system. One of the power transmission lines supplying Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant was also de-energised," the minister said.
