Kyiv is recovering from a massive Russian attack. Jet-powered ‘Shaheds’, ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, ‘Zircons’ and ‘Kalibrs’ — Russia bombarded the Ukrainian capital with all of these.

This is reported in a TSN news report.

Seventeen people are known to have died. The number of injured is rising; there are now 90, 70 of whom have been hospitalised. This was reported by the city’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko. Emergency services managed to rescue 34 people at the sites of the strikes. There are 28 areas across the city known to have been affected by the shelling. These are predominantly residential buildings and civilian infrastructure.

In the Darnytskyi district, three high-rise blocks and private houses have been partially destroyed. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, there is a fire on the roof of a seven-storey residential block and a hotel building. A building housing one of the ambulance sub-stations has also been damaged. At present, five people are known to have been injured – medical staff and drivers from the ambulance station. Russian terrorists have also destroyed two five-storey blocks of flats.

In Pechersk, a nine-storey residential building was destroyed as a result of the attack, and a fire broke out on the ground floors.

In Obolon, a fire broke out on the premises of a warehouse site.

In Svyatoshyn, two private residential buildings have been damaged.

In the Desnianskyi district, a nine-storey residential building has been destroyed.

TSN correspondent Olena Loskun reported that in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, one of the high-rise blocks was the worst affected. Rescue workers are continuing to clear the rubble there.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing, as, according to the rescue workers, people may still be trapped under the rubble, the TSN correspondent notes.

It is known that one woman died in this building. Seven people were injured here, and 17 were rescued.

“According to our information, there may still be people trapped under the rubble,” says a spokesperson for the State Emergency Service.

The intense heat in Kyiv is hampering the work of the rescue teams. It is not yet known whether this building will be fit for habitation.

“The shelter nearly collapsed. Everything came crashing down. Smoke. It was a rocket,” said a local resident.

Russia shelled an ambulance station with cluster munitions

TSN correspondent Iryna Markevych reported that medical vehicles were damaged at the ambulance station as a result of the Russian attack.

During the night-time attack, there were around 30 people on the premises of the ambulance station. These included paramedics, medical staff, technicians and drivers. Six medical staff were injured; one paramedic is in a serious condition. A piece of shrapnel severed his artery. He began to lose a great deal of blood. He was given emergency treatment. The grounds of the ambulance station are littered with metal shrapnel from cluster munitions. It was this shrapnel that caused severe damage to the equipment and vehicles, according to the TSN correspondent.

Ten ambulances are known to have been damaged. In addition, the Russian Federation attacked the ambulance service building and an adjacent premises.

Major fire in a high-rise block

TSN correspondent Alina Lisova reported that in Kyiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district, Russia attacked a five-storey residential block. The Russians destroyed two entrance blocks there.

Local residents believe that the occupiers struck the roof of the building, after which a massive fire broke out. People fled in the clothes on their backs and lost all their belongings.

Rescue workers and utility crews are on the scene, clearing up the aftermath of the strikes.

At 2 am, there was a very powerful explosion, and a wall of fire shot up. Our entire entrance was completely engulfed in flames,” says a local resident.

People say that nothing remains of the flats.

“As I ran to take shelter, I heard people shouting ‘Help!’,” recalls a local resident.

It is not yet known whether there have been any fatalities in this building.
