Zelenski names reason for slowing down AFU counter-offensive

The president commented on the slowdown of the Ukrainian armed forces' counter-offensive - the main reason being that the Russians have mined significant territory.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an interview with the BBC.
According to him, the occupiers were replacing 200,000 square kilometres on Ukrainian territory, which affects developments during the counterattack.
Whatever some people want, including attempts to put pressure on us, with all due respect, we will move forward on the battlefield as we see fit," the president stressed.
Zelenskyy drew attention to the need to provide Ukraine with security guarantees from NATO and advocated the transfer of US-made F-16 aircraft to the Armed Forces.
Earlier Sotsportal reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had liberated the village of Pyatikhatki in Zaporizhzhya Region. A total of eight settlements have been returned to Ukrainian control in a fortnight. However, according to Anna Malyar, the situation in the east of Ukraine remains difficult - the enemy is trying to advance. However, at the same time, the Verkhovna Rada believes that a special tribunal for the Russian military and political leadership may start operating as early as 2024. Discussions continue on the format of the tribunal.
