The Ukrainian armed forces explained why the occupants began to paint their ships black

The Russian army began to paint its ships in black colour trying to make it more difficult to determine the type of their vessel. This was revealed by the speaker of the Ukrainian armed forces' naval forces, Dmytro Pletenchuk, during a telethon.

He pointed out that such methods were used by the military back in the Second World War.

According to Pletenchuk, by changing the colouring of ships, the Russians expect to make the vessels more invisible at night.

There is a Ukrainian proverb: "A fool gets rich by thinking". This is about this situation," the speaker said.

He added that the Ukrainian army knows everything about the location of enemy ships and currently there are 11 enemy ships in the Black Sea, including two carriers of cruise missiles "Kalibr".

In particular:

• there is one enemy ship in the Sea of Azov;
• in the Mediterranean Sea - eight, including a carrier.
