Russia has launched a missile attack on a training unit of the AFU Ground Forces - there are dead and wounded.

On the night of 12 August, Russian troops attacked a training unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces with missiles. As a result of the attack, one serviceman was killed and 11 others were injured of varying severity, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Telegram channel has reported.

According to the military, the notification of the personnel about the missile threat was timely, but while moving to the shelters, a group of servicemen got into the impact zone of cluster munitions.

In addition to the wounded, another 12 servicemen sought medical help with symptoms of acubarotrauma and acute stress. Emergency services are working at the scene and the injured are receiving the necessary treatment.

The ground forces say they continue to fortify training centres, training ranges and military facilities with secure shelters, and are taking additional measures to protect personnel during missile and air attacks.

In early summer, Russian forces stepped up strikes on AFU training centres and training grounds. For example, on 1 June, an Iskander missile hit the 239th training range in Dnipropetrovsk Region, killing 12 people and injuring more than 60.
