- Russia has dealt a blow to the Ukrainian energy sector: the Energy Ministry reported problems with power supply

This night Ukraine was again subjected to a combined attack from Russia. The enemy used drones and various types of missiles.
On the night of 5 October, the Russian Federation launched massive strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities. As a result of the attack, the equipment of Zaporizhiyoblenerho JSC was damaged, which left residents of Zaporizhzhya and Zaporizhzhya Region without electricity. This was reported by the Ukrainian Energy Ministry.
The Ukrainian Energy Ministry specified that the difficult situation remains in Sumy and Chernihiv regions. In Chernihiv region continue to operate schedules of hourly blackouts.
Power engineers are working to restore power supply in order to return light to residents as soon as possible," the ministry said.
The attack was part of a large-scale overnight wave of strikes across the country. Russian forces fired more than 50 missiles and about 500 attack drones, using cruise missiles, Shahed drones and aeroballistic Daggers. Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zaporizhzhya, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Odessa and Kirovograd regions were hit.
As of this morning, about 10 people were injured in the attack and five were killed.
President Vladimir Zelensky emphasised that the Russians were once again targeting the infrastructure that ensures normal life for people. He called for stronger protection and faster implementation of all defence agreements, especially on air defence, to make these air attacks meaningless.
