Since the occupation of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions began, the Russians have organised logging.

This was said in a statement by Deputy Defence Minister Anna Malyar.

Entrepreneurs are carrying out uncontrolled barbaric felling of forest plantations, which, if prolonged, will inevitably lead to disastrous consequences for the environment," Malyar wrote.

Most of the forested areas in this region are man-made and have been deliberately created to protect against wind, soil and water erosion, serving as recreational and reforestation plantations.

During the last decade of March this year, intensive movement of Russian truck columns loaded with freshly cut birch logs was observed on roads E105 and M18 near Mariupol', - noted Anna Malyar.

Malyar also said that the Russian command has banned the local population from carrying out agricultural work on the fields in some of the Ukrainian TTC settlements, which is likely to disrupt this year's spring sowing campaign and subsequently lead to the abandonment of agricultural land.
