In 2025, Ukraine will receive 1.5bn euros a month from revenues from frozen Russian assets

The actions are aimed at supporting Ukraine's budget.
The European Union will provide Ukraine with 1.5bn euros a month from January 2025 from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets. This was announced by the new president of the European Council, António Costa, during a press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The official emphasised that Ukraine would be able to use these funds, in particular, for military purposes.
Costa pointed out that already in December, the EU will allocate an additional 4.2bn euros to Ukraine in order to "support the Ukrainian budget".
He also promised that the EU would continue to put pressure on the Russian economy and was already working on the 15th package of sanctions.
The EU leader added that in the first half of the year, the EU and Ukraine would work on opening at least the first two negotiation clusters on European integration.
We would like to point out that President Volodymyr Zelensky met with the new president of the European Council, António Costa, and the new EU high representative for foreign affairs and security policy, Kaja Kallas, who arrived on a visit to Kiev. Zelensky and Costas discussed the vision of European and global affairs - existing problems and prospects. With the new EU chief diplomat, Zielensky discussed Ukraine's needs in air defence systems.
