Wagner will no longer fight in Ukraine - Budanov

One of the consequences of Prigozhin's mutiny has been to discredit the Russian leadership, leading to the withdrawal of subordinates from Ukrainian territory.

This opinion was expressed by the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Interior Ministry, Kyrylo Budanov, in a commentaryto Ukrayinska Pravda.

Budanov believes that the Wagner PKK will no longer take part in the war against Ukraine.

We have received a compromise of the Russian leadership. Once again the myth of the Russian regime's intransigence has been destroyed. Losses have been inflicted on the Russian aerospace forces. And also - the Wagner MPC will no longer take part in combat operations on the territory of Ukraine. And this is the most effective unit of the Russian Federation, which was able to succeed at any cost," he said.

We shall remind you that on 23 June, Wagner's leader Yevgeniy Prigozhin said that the Russian regular army had launched a missile attack on the rear camps and he was "going to deal with it" in Moscow. In his statement he effectively announced the start of a military coup in the Russian Federation. After which the Wagnerians took control of all key facilities in Voronezh, Rostov.

Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin called Prigozhin's actions a "betrayal" and a "stab in the back" that he would not forgive. However, despite the fact that a criminal case was launched against Prigozhin, the riot organizer was released. It was decided to deport him to Belarus. Western analysts believe that the march on Moscow has significantly damaged the reputation of both Prigozhin and Putin. At the same time, the Institute for the Study of War voiced fears that the Wagner ringleader might try to attack Ukraine from the territory of Belarus.
