Ukraine could benefit from the weakening of Prigozhin's and Putin's positions, according to Western experts and the press.

Prigozhin's rebellious march on Moscow, which ended in "agreements", significantly undermined the "ironclad" reputation of both Prigozhin himself and Putin.

Politico writes that the Western world has closely watched as Prigozhin "goes to Moscow" and takes over the regions. During his promotion, politicians met repeatedly to discuss how events could unfold and how Ukraine could exploit the situation.

The US and its European allies concluded that Kiev had an unprecedented opportunity for advancement because of the Russian insurgency, the newspaper said.

The Wall Street Journal pointed out that the US said it intended to postpone imposing new sanctions against the Wagner PMC because of the Prigozhin mutiny. Washington had intended to announce the new restrictions on Tuesday, but U.S. officials fear it could inadvertently take sides in the conflict.

The Financial Times pointsto a number of inconsistencies in what happened and points out that Putin initially called Prigozhin a traitor in front of the entire nation and then made a deal with him, moreover, the Kremlin chief allegedly promised to kill him but then gave Prigozhin free rein to leave the country. The publication also analyses what levers Prigozhin pressed if Putin agreed to Shoigu's resignation.

Pro-Kremlin political analyst Sergei Markov wrote that the conflict between Putin and Prigozhin was resolved the European way.

That's the way Europe is. Everyone makes endless reasonable compromises, doesn't go into conflict, but everyone doesn't look like a hero," he explained.

Military analyst Rob Lee suggested that, because of the mutiny, Prigozhin will permanently lose the support of some of the supporters of the war. They will now emphasise their distance from the mercenaries in every possible way so as not to end up in the anti-Putin camp.

The American military analyst Michael Coffman admitted that he doesn't understand "what we've all seen".

Swedish economist Alsund Åslund wrote that Putin's life after the mutiny was in more danger than Prigozhin's.

The Wall Street Journal political analyst Abbas Galliamov said that in any case the incident would have an impact on Putin and he would feel the effects of the mutiny in the near future.

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said in an interview with Il Messaggero that the attempted mutiny by the private military company Wagner showed the weakness of Russia and the Russian authorities and could also help Ukraine. According to the Italian foreign minister, the attempted mutiny by the Wagnerites means that "the myth of Putin's Russia's unity is over".
