White House comments on strikes on Russia

The White House National Security Council's strategic communications coordinator, John Kirby, said this at a briefing.

Kirby said that the USA would not tell Ukraine which targets can be hit and which cannot be hit. Also, the USA does not tell Ukrainians how to conduct combat operations.

We provide them with training, equipment, advice - yes god, we even do situational modelling with them to help plan further actions. But it is President Zelensky and the military leadership who decide what will be done from a military perspective. And it is they who decide what to do with the equipment that has been provided to them and which is now in their possession.

That said, Kirby noted that the US does not encourage attacks inside Russia and neither do they want such attacks to be carried out with US weapons.
