Zelensky hits Russia with new sanctions: Artek on the list

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a decree enacting the decision of the National Security and Defence Council on sanctions against Russia.
The Artek children's camp, located in occupied Crimea, has been placed under restrictions. This is stated in decree No 395/2025 published by the head of state.
The sanctions list includes 48 individuals, among them Roman Alekhin, a Russian war correspondent, formerly an adviser to the government of the Kursk region of Russia. This year he contracted with the Akhmat unit fighting against Ukraine, where he served for only 23 days.
Sergei Novikov, head of the presidential department for public projects, and Dmitry Shevtsov, a member of the House of Representatives of Belarus, also fell under the sanctions.
In addition, the restrictions affected nine legal entities:
Artek International Children's Centre (controlled by the Russian Ministry of Education since the occupation of Crimea);
All-Russian public and state movement of children and youth "Movement of the First;
The regional branch of the Movement of the First in the Kherson region;
Autonomous non-profit organization "Centre for Humanitarian and Cultural Initiatives 'Rassvet'";
Melitopol State University;
Russian Society "Znanie";
Voluntary Society for Assistance to the Army, Aviation and Fleet of Russia in Sevastopol;
Marine Innovation Centre of the regional branch of the same society in Sevastopol;
All-Russian public organisation of marines "Typhoon".
Earlier, the Centre for National Resistance reported that the Russians were using Artek as a recreation base for the occupants: by April, about 30 Russian servicemen had been there.
