Ukrainian Defence Ministry explains what the NATO Summit in Vilnius will bring to Ukraine

Earlier, Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the issue of Ukraine in NATO was not on the agenda until after the war.
At the Vilnius summit, NATO member states will provide Ukraine with an algorithm for joining the North Atlantic Alliance. The country will be a member of NATO after the war is over. Deputy Defence Minister Volodymyr Gavrilov said this in the ministry's Telegram channel.
He said that at the July meeting of the Alliance, the NATO member states "will come up with a certain order for Ukraine's accession", which "will be fixed".
Gavrilov admitted that there might be some delays in consensus decision-making, but expressed confidence that there would be no major problems with making decisions on Ukraine.
There are all the signs that Ukraine will get what it wants in a certain format... Already now at the Vilnius summit, Ukraine should clearly understand that after the war, say, within a year or two, after certain procedural things are done, we will be members of NATO," Gavrilov said.
The Vilnius summit is scheduled for 11-12 July. Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that Ukraine is ready to join NATO and awaits the readiness of the North Atlantic Alliance to accept it. At the same time, a number of countries are in favour of Ukraine's membership after the end of the war.
