The defence ministry explains how combat pay is formed

Soldiers engaged in combat on the line of contact with the enemy receive a monthly stipend and additional pay for direct participation in hostilities.
This was reported by the Social Security Department of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry.
Starting from 01.02.2023, the minimum monthly allowance of a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be 20,100 hryvnyas. Additionally, it is paid for participation in combat operations. The remuneration amounts to 100,000 UAH per full moon of such participation.
So, if a soldier has been directly participating in combat actions (without condition of obligatory direct fire contact with the enemy) on the battlefield for a whole month, he must get at least 120,100 UAH for that month.
However, the exact amount of a soldier's monthly pay depends on the position held.
