Six Ukrainian border guards who were guarding the border in Sumy region were captured

Six Ukrainian border guards who were on duty in Sumy Region have been captured by Russians. The fact that the border guards allegedly surrendered was reported by the governor of Russia's Kursk Region, Roman Starovoit.

He also published a video of a man, presumably one of the captives, telling the camera "why he decided to surrender."

The man says that he is dissatisfied with the situation in Ukraine, in particular the mobilisation process, accuses officials of embezzling state funds and calls for "surrendering as a prisoner of war". It should be noted that the man is not wearing chevrons or other identifying marks on his uniform.

In its turn, Hromadske has said that a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group was involved in the capture of the border guards. The Kordon.Media website has reported that the Ukrainian border guards may have been taken prisoner during a military clash. It reported that the soldiers were probably captured while defending the Ukrainian border.
