On the morning of 24 July, Russian forces launched airstrikes on Kharkiv, using aerial reconnaissance bombs (ARBs).

The central part of the city - Shevchenkivskyy district - was hit. According to preliminary data, one of the munitions exploded near a multi-storey apartment block, causing about 15 cars to catch fire. The casualties are reported.

Kharkiv mayor Igor Terekhov confirmed that the blows came in close proximity to residential buildings. According to his information, at least three injured are known at the moment.

The head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleg Sinegubov, specified that one of the hits occurred right next to a residential building. Among the injured is a 27-year-old woman. All emergency services are working on the site, rescuers are eliminating the consequences of the attack, and medical teams are providing assistance to the injured.

Kharkiv has been subjected to regular combined shelling by Russian troops since the first days of the full-scale invasion, and strikes on residential neighbourhoods remain one of the main threats to the city's civilians.
