Not prayer alone: in Odessa, priests handed over a portable REB system to soldiers

In Odessa, clergymen of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church have handed over a portable electronic warfare system to Ukrainian soldiers. This was reported by the State Border Service on 27 June.

The consecration of icons of "Guardian Angels" for the Ukrainian military took place in the Cathedral Church of St. Andrew the Apostle of Ukraine. The rite was conducted by Vladyka Mykhailo Bubnyi.

After the liturgy, he handed over the REB system to one of the combat units of the Southern Regional Directorate, and the consecrated icons to the units of the Izmail Border Guard Detachment.

The Church cannot consecrate instruments of murder, but it can protect its troops with prayer and means that can save lives, - Vladyka Mikhail noted.

Deputy head of the Southern Regional Directorate, Colonel Sergei Sergiychuk expressed gratitude for the constant support of border guards and presented the exarch with a commendation of the State Border Service.

Earlier Socialportal reported that in Uzhgorod a drunken priest of the Mukachevo diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church crashed into a house and caused a traffic accident and swore at the arriving police officers.
