In northern Kosovo, local Serbs erect barricades, ostensibly because they fear the Kosovo police will launch an operation against them.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

Tensions between Serbia and Kosovo are on the rise. Therefore the Foreign Ministry advises Ukrainians to avoid travelling to these countries in the near future.

In connection with the strained relations between Belgrade and Pristina, we recommend Ukrainian citizens to refrain from visiting this region of the Western Balkans for the time being, and for those who are there to avoid crowded places.

In order to obtain assistance, Ukrainian citizens may contact the 24-hour hotline or post office of the Embassy of Ukraine in Serbia, or, in case of emergency, also the hotline of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (+380442381588, or e-mail: cons_or@mfa.gov.ua).

It is worth recalling that Kosovo Serbs have erected barricades in the north of the partially recognized state, allegedly because Kosovo law enforcers are planning forceful operations against the Serbian population.
