Ryanair plans to resume flights to Ukraine by the end of this year

Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair intends to resume flights to Ukraine by the end of 2023. According to the carrier's director, Michael O'Leary, two options for resuming operations in the Ukrainian market are being considered:

• When the war is over and everything opens up in literally two days.
• A variant, according to which the company may already plan a small number of flights before the end of the year.

The Ryanair director added that the second option is most favoured by the management.

I think we should be optimistic. Now the Ukrainian authorities are working on resuming some flights to Kiev and Lviv at the end of this year. And if they can prove that it is safe, we will operate those flights," he said.

At the same time, O'Leary cited the example of Israel and noted that there are shellings there, but the airport is working. He also reminded that many Ukrainians were scattered around the world and the resumption of air traffic will be useful for them. Also, the airline intends to create new jobs in Ukraine.

At the same time, he stressed that if Ukraine fails to convince the European Aviation Safety Agency and insurance companies that it is safe to operate a limited number of flights to Kiev and Lviv, the company will not be able to resume flights.
