Save Ukraine team managed to get 19 Ukrainian children out of temporarily occupied territories
Another 19 children who were under Russian occupation have been returned to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, the founder and head of the Save Ukraine charity organisation, Mykola Kuleba, has said, as quoted by the Ukrainian news and analysis website Public.
According to him, in total, the Save Ukraine team has already returned 196 children to Ukraine.
Thank you to everyone who was with us and helped us to do this difficult but important work. Let's move on," Kuleba wrote.
It was possible to do this as part of the 12th rescue mission.
It is known that on 12 September Save Ukraine within the 11th rescue mission returned 13 more children from the occupied territories of Kherson region, Luhansk region and Zaporizhzhya region.
Earlier, the Ukrainian presidential commissioner for children's rights, Darya Herasymchuk, said that as of the end of March, the Ukrainian authorities knew exactly about more than 19.5 thousand children taken from the VOT to Russia, but it was difficult to count them accurately due to the occupation of part of Ukraine's territory.
