In Kharkiv region, a farmer fled to Russia and abandoned a farm with 28 horses. He left the animals without food. Animal rights activists filed a police report against him for cruel treatment of animals. This was told in UAnimals.

The equestrian complex is constantly shelled by the Russians, because of which a 5-month-old foal has already died, and a mare was wounded. Currently, the animals are being taken care of by local law enforcers and Alexei - the only stable boy left on the farm," the animal rights activists said.

The man explained that he has been working on the farm for 12 years and could not leave the animals to die. At the same time, it is hard for him to take care of all the animals alone, especially since there is a catastrophic lack of food for them.

From time to time Alexei is helped by law enforcers. They make arrangements with local people and volunteers for hay, oats and salt for the horses.

However, as Alexei points out, what we can get is not enough. Sometimes the horses don't eat for two days. They simply have nothing to give. There is also no firewood on the farm, which means that during frosts there is nothing to melt the frozen water with.

Animal rights activists point out that they wanted to remove the horses.

By law, the police have the right to at least temporarily seize the animals until the court makes a final decision on the case. Then the UAnimals team will be able to remove the horses from under fire," the animal rights activists say.

They urge the police to consider their application as soon as possible and help save the horses from war and cruelty.
