Prosecutor's office updates data on children killed in Ukraine because of war

Children were most affected in Donetsk oblast, Kharkiv and Kyiv oblasts.



Since the beginning of Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine, 430 children have already died as a result of bombing, shelling and hostilities. Another 818 received injuries of varying severity. Such statistics are given in the Office of the Prosecutor General as of the morning of October 22.

Children suffered the most in the Donetsk region - 417, Kharkov - 260, Kyiv - 116, Mykolaiv - 77, Zaporozhye - 69, Chernihiv - 68, Lugansk - 64, Kherson - 57, Dnepropetrovsk - 31.

The prosecutor's office clarifies that the figures are not final:

It was not possible to find out all the cases in the places of active hostilities and in the temporarily occupied territories. Work is also ongoing to identify the consequences of hostilities and the circumstances of the death of children in the recently liberated territories.

It is known that 2,663 educational institutions were damaged due to bombing and shelling by the armed forces of the Russian Federation. 326 of them were completely destroyed.
