A Ukrainian woman dressed as a Warrior of Light stunned everyone at Miss Universe

The Miss Universe 2022 pageant is taking place in New Orleans, USA.
One of the most impressive moments of this competition has always been the girls' entry in so-called national costumes. In fact, it has nothing to do with national costumes in the traditional sense, but it gives the designers a chance to let their rich imagination run free.
This year Ukraine is represented at the competition by 28-year-old Victoria Apanasenko. The jury and the audience were impressed by the girl's appearance on the stage as Warrior of Light. Her dress for the national costume contest was decorated with huge wings. By the way, besides the Ukrainian, three other contestants had "winged" dresses - participants from India, Colombia and Seichel. But all girls "wings" were lifted with hands or, as for Indian girl, they were already stretched on the back.
Apanasenko impressed everyone with her unusual technical design - the wings unfolded and lowered as if they were alive.
The author of this unusual costume is designer Lesya Patoka, who worked on it for four months. According to her idea, the outfit represents Ukraine, which stands up to the forces of evil and fights for its freedom.
Five basic materials and elements have been used in the image. The monolithic jumpsuit, symbolizing armour, envelopes Victoria like a second skin; the white dress, consisting of a stylized embroidered vest with puffed sleeves, a skirt that took up over 10 meters of fabric, and a modern-style krajka, a belt. The costume features a headpiece with traditional Ukrainian ears. The symbolic battle-scarred wings, framed with blue and gold armour in the colours of the Ukrainian flag, are open for the decisive battle and are decorated with various greens.
Tomorrow, January 14, the Miss Universe 2022 finals will take place.
