Irina Vereshchuk, Vice Prime Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, said that the government is working to solve the problems of IDPs, including simplifying the registration of IDPs and receiving social benefits. Vereshchuk reported this on Telegram.

We are working on solving the problems of our migrants. We simplify and accelerate everything that can be simplified and accelerated,” she noted.

She noted that the Verkhovna Rada adopted Law No. 7310 aimed at simplifying and speeding up the issuance of birth and death certificates to IDPs.

These and many other legislative changes would not have been possible without our public organizations. I know their contribution, and they know how grateful I am to them,” the minister stressed.

According to her, the expert knowledge and practical experience of public organizations are at the heart of many steps taken by the state on IDPs.

But their main contribution is indifference and dedication,” Vereshchuk wrote.

According to the International Organization for Migration, the number of internally displaced persons in Ukraine has exceeded 8 million. According to this UN organization, in connection with the large-scale humanitarian crisis in the country, 44 percent of internally displaced persons admit that they will again have to change their place of residence.

At the same time, more than 5.5 million internally displaced persons have returned to their homes in Ukraine. This is stated in the report of the International Organization for Migration (IOM). People are returning to the north of the country and to Kyiv.

Recall that about 7.6 million Ukrainians left the country, and 5.1 million people were still abroad as of mid-June 2022. This is about 12-15% of the country's population.
