An electronic prescription for the purchase of narcotic drugs will be launched in Ukraine

Already in November, Ukrainians will be able to buy medicines in pharmacies that contain narcotic or psychotropic substances. The press service of the Ministry of Health warns about this.

They also specify that such medications will be dispensed strictly according to the prescription. There will also be strict records of prescriptions issued to patients who need such drugs.

Starting from November 1, an electronic prescription is expected to be launched, with the help of which Ukrainians will be able to legally purchase psychotropic drugs.

The Ministry of Health explained that prescriptions for such drugs will be both electronic and in paper format. In the second case, medicines will have to be issued on special forms of Form No. 3.

To dispense such drugs by e-prescription, pharmacies that have the appropriate license to dispense narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors must register with the ESOP, the press service of the Ministry of Health said.

If the issuance of the medicine is provided for by electronic prescription, then the patient will receive a code on the phone, which he will have to announce to the pharmacist at the pharmacy.

The department believes that this step will help seriously ill Ukrainians receive the medicines they need.

The Ministry of Health also warns that the next step will be the introduction of electronic prescriptions for all prescription medications.

We add that drugs containing psychotropic and narcotic substances are used in the treatment of patients with diseases of the brain and nervous system.
