The United States has changed the requirements for tests for coronavirus
16:15, 12.06.2022

The US has lifted COVID-19 testing requirements for all travelers arriving in the United States from overseas. It is reported by Politico .

Until then, passengers were required to test negative for COVID-19 the day before boarding a flight to the United States.

This decision was made by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), "based on scientific evidence." At the same time, they did not rule out that the requirement for testing visitors could be returned.

The CDC will reevaluate this decision after 90 days and will continue to evaluate it on an ongoing basis. If the need arises to reinstate the pre-departure testing requirement - including due to a new, worrying option - the CDC will not hesitate to take action, a CDC official said in a comment to the publication.

It is noted that the decision was facilitated by airlines and the tourism industry, which insisted on lifting restrictions. They said the restriction hinders air travel at a time when passengers are showing a growing interest in flying.

The constantly updated Worldometers monitoring page shows that, as of June 12, 2022, 6330950 (+1097 per day) died from the coronavirus disease COVID-19 in the world, more than 540 became infected, about 19 million are currently infected, more than 515 million infected recognized as recovered.
