In Lithuania, fortifications were installed at the border checkpoint with Belarus (photo)

In Lithuania, fortifications against a possible invasion were installed at the Shumskas border checkpoint.
This was reported by Laurynas Kasciūnas, a member of the Lithuanian Parliamentary Committee for National Security and Defence.
As border crossings are being closed, the first fortification/countermobility structures are appearing nearby. To your attention are the structures at the closed Shumskas border crossing," Kasciūnas wrote.
He said that Lithuania will have 19 points where counter-mobile and fortification structures will be installed, and these engineering structures will be used to stop the enemy if necessary. This will be done within a year and the first park will be installed this autumn.
In addition, natural obstacles are being analysed and Lithuania's terrain is being assessed to maximise the effectiveness of the structures.
Kasciūnas noted that it is necessary to act now. We need to find funds, allocate them and integrate them into defence plans before the enemy tries to cross the Lithuanian state border.
