The GUR explained why nothing is heard about RDK and the Legion of Freedom

"The Russian Volunteer Corps and the Russian Freedom Legion are "preparing for active actions" which will be "a surprise for the Russian Federation". This was stated by a representative of the GUR, Major-General Vadym Skibitskyy, in an interview with Ukrayinska Pravda.

Skibitsky pointed out that past operations of LS and RDK units have already had a surprise effect for Russia and indicated that such attacks will continue.

At the same time, the intelligence officer noted that Russia has significantly increased its presence in the border area near the Ukrainian border. The Russians have also deployed equipment that makes it difficult to enter the Russian territory, strengthened air defence, reconnaissance systems and other things that are related precisely to preventing the activities of such groups.

Accordingly, planning is difficult now, but actions are planned," Skibitsky said.

He stressed that future actions of the Legionnaires and RDK will be carried out using not only manpower, but also other forces and means "in order to defeat the most critical objects on the territory of the Russian Federation."

The Freedom of Russia Legion is a Russian legion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, formed in March 2022 to defend Ukraine from Russian invasion. It is a member of the International Legion of the TRO of Ukraine. The Legion was formed from former members of the Russian Armed Forces and other Russians or Belarusians who defected to Ukraine. The Legion uses a white-blue-white flag on its armband chevrons instead of the official white-blue-red flag of the Russian Federation.

"Russian Volunteer Corps" is a military unit formed from Russian emigrants living in Ukraine. Its members claim that they are fighting on the side of Ukraine and are a military unit of the Ukrainian armed forces.
