The Russian Duma calls Ukraine's "most despicable act"

The speaker of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, has said that Ukraine acted meanly towards Russia and said that the "meanest act" on Kiev's part was its willingness to cancel the 9 May celebrations. Volodin wrote this on his Telegram.

Today they are going to cancel Victory Day - May 9. The most despicable act. The memory of the victory unites the people of our countries. This does not give peace to the current Kiev regime led by Zelensky. Many crimes he has committed, but the cancellation of Victory Day is the most despicable act in relation to those who gave their lives to liberate the world from Nazism, - said Volodin.

Among the other "vile deeds", according to Volodin, are allegedly "the ban on speaking Russian, the demolition of monuments to those who liberated the country from the Nazis, and the splitting of the Russian Orthodox Church.

They started to destroy the native culture, which cannot be divided into Russian and Ukrainian - it, like our faith, is common to us. Not limiting themselves to excluding our classics from the school curriculum, they started renaming towns and streets," Volodin continued.

It should be noted that a draft law has been submitted to the Ukrainian parliament, which proposes to cancel March 8, May 1 and May 9, and instead introduce three new holidays.
