US Secretary of State Blinken arrives in Kyiv to support Ukrainians


The purpose of the US Secretary of State's visit is to demonstrate US solidarity with Ukraine.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has arrived in Kyiv. He reported about it on the morning of 14 May in social network X.
Today I returned to Kyiv to demonstrate our unwavering support for Ukraine defending its freedom from Russian aggression," he wrote.
U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived in Kyiv on Tuesday on his first visit since the U.S. Congress passed a long-delayed $61 billion military aid package for Ukraine, Reuters reported.
The trip is aimed at demonstrating U.S. solidarity with Ukraine, which is confronting intense Russian shelling on its northeastern border.
Blinken arrived in Kyiv by train early Tuesday morning. According to the publication's source, Blinken hopes to "send a strong message of reassurance to the Ukrainians, who are obviously in a very difficult position."
Blinken is scheduled to assure Ukrainian officials, including President Volodymyr Zelensky, of the United States' continued support and deliver a speech on Ukraine's future.
Socialportal earlier reported that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing as part of his visit to China on Friday, 26 April.
