Syrsky called for stronger defence at one section of the front because of the Russian offensive

The AFU approached the second line of defence of the Russian occupiers in the area of Robotynoye in the West of Zaporizhzhya region.
The commander of the AFU Ground Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyy, has called for sending additional forces to the north-eastern section of the front, where he believes Russia may throw new troops. This was reported by The New York Times
He said that in recent weeks, Russian forces had managed to advance around Kupyansk while Ukraine's defence forces were slowly advancing in the south and east of the country.
Enemy units continue to inflict attacks with artillery, mortars and aircraft. Under such conditions, we must immediately take all measures to strengthen our defences at the threatened lines and advance wherever possible," Syrskyy said.
The publication points out that Syrsky made the statement amid growing debate about the "too slow counter-offensive" by Ukrainian defenders on the front.
According to Pentagon considerations, Kiev should have concentrated a huge number of forces on a certain section of the front line to make a breakthrough, but Ukrainian commanders tried to distribute troops and firepower differently," the newspaper said.
According to analysts, the situation at the front remains unstable and Syrskyy's statement only confirms this.
The enemy is now regrouping its forces and means, as well as transferring newly formed brigades and divisions from Russian territory. Russia's main task is to raise the level of combat potential and resume active offensive operations," Syrsky added.
It should be noted that one of the important towns liberated from the occupants was Kupyansk. It was occupied by enemy troops from the first days of the war.
