Sweden expels five Russian diplomats

Sweden has called the Russian ambassador... and informed him that five people working at the embassy had been asked to leave the country as a result of activities incompatible with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations," the Swedish Foreign Ministry has said.

It is worth noting that Norway expelled 15 employees of the Russian embassy from the country at the beginning of April this year. According to the Foreign Ministry, all of them were intelligence officers and posed a threat to Norway.

This is an important step in countering and reducing the level of activity of Russian intelligence in Norway, and therefore in protecting our national interests, - Norwegian Foreign Minister Anniken Huytfeldt emphasized at the time.
