Shmyhal said he would give Ukraine the status of an EU candidate

Ukraine expects an increase in the number of investments in the country.
Prime Minister Denys Shmihal spoke about the benefits that Ukraine will have after receiving the status of a candidate for joining the European Union. About how our country will benefit from this, Shmygal wrote on Facebook .
Firstly, it is the legal consolidation of the European future of Ukraine. This means that Ukraine is not just potentially one day able to join the EU, but that the process has been launched, and it already meets a significant number of criteria that are put forward for candidates, the prime minister said.
He also noted that the preparation for membership will include the completion of a comprehensive transformation of all areas. At the same time, Shmyhal emphasized that the transformations in the country would take place under the patronage of the EU itself.
Ukraine will become a full member of EU programs and initiatives open to both EU countries and countries with the status of a candidate for membership. Ukraine, as a candidate country, will have more opportunities to have its voice heard during the formation of EU policy, the head of government stressed.
Shmyhal noted that such a status would increase the influx of investors.
The business climate will approach the conditions in the EU countries - investors will operate in a market that is predictable and business is protected. Attractiveness for investors will also require strong security guarantees after the victory over Russia, Shmyhal said.
In addition, he said that financial assistance would be available to Ukraine for countries that are preparing to join the EU.
Such assistance can be provided through grants, investments or as technical assistance, the head of government specified.
Shmygal is convinced that the move to the EU will allow modernizing the Ukrainian state.
We are interested in making all changes as soon as possible. Ukraine is Europe and soon Ukraine will be a member of the European Union,” Shmyhal stressed.
Recall, the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said at a briefing in Brussels that the European Commission recommends the European Council to provide Ukraine with a European perspective and the status of a candidate for joining the European Union.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed an application for Ukraine's membership in the European Union on February 28.
Ukraine also filled out and submitted to the European Commission a questionnaire that contains political and economic criteria by which Ukraine's readiness to obtain the status of a candidate for membership, as well as an assessment of the compliance of Ukrainian legislation with EU law, will be assessed.
