The family remained in memory and heart: a fighter of the Azov regiment spoke about the battles for Mariupol

20-year-old Bogdan Tsymbal, a fighter of the Azov regiment with the call sign Vog, commanded a platoon during the defense of Mariupol, received 6 bullets in the battles for the city and was evacuated from Azovstal by helicopter.
A report about Bohdan was filmed by journalists from Radio Liberty Ukraine.
The guy's family died - the tank fired at the apartment. My mother, grandmother and uncle stayed there forever. And the father disappeared in the process of filtering. Bogdan's brother also died in the battle.
The guy comes from near Mariupol. He went to Azov right after school, at the age of 18.
Why "Azov"? Because in 2015 it was this unit that liberated my locality. That's why he considered it his duty. My older brother also served in Azov, ”recalls Bogdan.
On March 12, at Azovstal, the fighter met his older brother, who served in the same unit, but in a different platoon. Soon Bogdan learned about the death of his brother. On March 22, Bogdan was seriously wounded. To prevent the Russians from finishing off, he pretended to be dead. And soon the guy, along with 5 other colleagues, was evacuated by helicopter from Azovstal.
Bogdan also sees the future in the war.
We will return the borders, we will take our prisoners, - says Bogdan.
