The Russian army began the withdrawal of its troops from the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

It is reported by France24 with reference to the representative of the US Department of Defense.

It is known that Russian troops took control of the Chernobyl site, where radioactive waste is still stored, on February 24, the first day of the invasion.

The troops of the Russian Federation are beginning to redeploy part of their troops - they are leaving the facility in Chernobyl to Belarus, the report says.

Russian troops also seized Europe's largest nuclear power plant in Zaporozhye on March 4, where shelling started a fire at a training facility.
