Law enforcer who sold classified information from state databases exposed

The organiser of the illegal activity was a former law enforcer who set up a private detective agency. He engaged an active law enforcer, the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation reported.

Attackers found clients through chat rooms and groups in messengers. On request, they provided information on residential addresses, car and mobile phone numbers of Ukrainians, as well as on the crossing of the state border. Among the demanded information was data on Ukrainian officials, which could cause great damage to the interests of our state.

It is noted that the law enforcer went in and copied the information into the database. Depending on the amount of work, the average price of services was $ 200.

During the authorised searches at the figures were found a large array of orders on the citizens of Ukraine, - added in the DBI.

The acting law enforcer was informed of suspicion of unauthorised actions with information processed in automated systems, and the sale of information with limited access (part 3 of article 362, part 2 of article 361-2 of the Criminal code of Ukraine). He was suspended from work. The accomplice was informed about suspicion of selling information with limited access (part 2 of article 361-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The perpetrators face imprisonment for up to 6 years.
