Estonia's prime minister predicts when Ukraine might join NATO

Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas said this in a commentary to the ERR.

According to the prime minister, Ukraine's membership in the alliance is possible only after the war in Ukraine is over. After that NATO will become a real guarantee of Ukraine's security.

They (Ukrainians) have applied and NATO should respond to this application. If we are talking about giving Ukraine some kind of security guarantee, the only security guarantee that really works is NATO membership. For our part we are trying to convince the allies why such a clear prospect after the war should be given to Ukraine so that these signals are clear. And, on the other hand, we are telling Ukraine what they also need to do in their rhetoric or actions of persuasion to move in this direction.

It is worth noting that Baltic leaders are calling on the other member states of the Alliance to provide concrete progress and further information on Ukraine's accession to NATO at the Vilnius summit.
