North Korea prepares second batch of military to be sent to Russia - Bloomberg

Pyongyang is preparing another batch of soldiers to send to Russia. This is reported by Bloomberg with reference to documents of the South Korean intelligence service, which it shared with allies and with which the publication was familiarised.

It is indicated that North Korea sends troops to Russia in parts and about 1500 people from the elite special forces are already undergoing training in the Russian Far East. They are expected to be part of the 10,000 troops that Kim Jong-un has agreed to provide to Putin to wage a war of aggression against Ukraine.

The North Korean troops will be sent to the front lines of Russia's war in Ukraine after completing about a month of training at military facilities in Vladivostok, Ussuriysk, Khabarovsk and Blagoveshchensk, the publication points out, citing intelligence reports.

It is noted that the Russian command plans to arm the North Koreans with weapons and combat uniforms, as well as fake identifiers to pass them off as residents of eastern regions of Russia.

In addition, the publication writes that North Korea continues to send large batches of weapons to Russia. According to the publication's source, they are larger in scale than the US and European intelligence had previously assumed.

Since August last year, Pyongyang has sent about 8 million North Korean-made shells of 122 mm and 152 mm calibre. Also, about 100 Hwasong-11 missiles as well as Bulsae-4 anti-tank weapons have been found on the battlefield in Ukraine for the first time," Bloomberg noted.

The source added that NATO's reaction to the DPRK's actions would be restrained, however, the West may increase arms deliveries to Ukraine.
