- Missile attack on Ukraine: death toll and casualties rise

The Russian attack on the morning of 2 January injured more than 120 people, with 5 deaths known.
President Vladimir Zelensky wrote about it in a telegram.
As a result of today's strike by Russian terrorists, more than 120 people were injured, and currently we know about 5 dead. My condolences to all who have lost relatives," the message said.
Zelensky also thanked everyone who continues to work to eliminate the consequences of the Russian attack: rescuers of the State Emergency Situations Service, medics, police officers, volunteers, utility workers and others.
While Russian missiles are trying to destroy all living things, we are trying to save more lives by saving every human being and every living soul. These are the values we fight for day in and day out. All people and animals, all living things need defence when the land of your country is encroached upon by the Russian occupier, - the President added.
We shall remind you that this morning the Russians fired at least 99 missiles of various types and 35 UAVs at Ukraine. The main direction of the strike was Kiev, where two people were killed.
