On the night of 4 September, Russian drones went down in Romania after attacking Odessa region overnight

This was reported by the speaker of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Oleh Nikolenko, citing information from the State Border Service of Ukraine.

Nikolenko called this another confirmation that Russian missile terror poses a huge threat not only to Ukraine's security, but also to the security of neighbouring countries, in particular NATO member states.

We urge our partners to speed up the provision of Ukraine with additional modern missile and air defence systems, as well as combat aviation, which will strengthen the protection of Ukraine's infrastructure, as well as that of neighbouring countries," the Foreign Ministry speaker stressed.

We would like to point out that drones attacked the Izmail port in Odessa Region. It is located on the Danube River, which divides Ukraine and Romania by a 400-metre-long channel. The occupiers used at least 17 drones to attack the region, and several of them flew into Romanian territory. Oleg Nikolenko did not specify the place where the drones fell.

At the same time, the Romanian Defence Ministry said that the Russian Federation's attacks did not pose a direct threat to the country's territory.

Foreign Ministry: Russian "shakhad" fell and detonated on Romanian territory

The Romanian Defence Ministry condemned the attacks on Ukrainian facilities and elements of civilian infrastructure and called them unjustified and in violation of all international humanitarian rules.

The ministry said that the responsible structures monitored in real time the situation caused by Russian drone attacks on the infrastructure of the Reni seaport last night.

The drone attacks carried out by the Russian Federation did not pose a direct military threat to our national territory or Romanian territorial waters," the Defence Ministry said.

Forreference: according to Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, in the event that any member state of the Alliance becomes the victim of an armed attack, all other NATO members without exception will consider this act of violence as an armed attack against them all and will take measures deemed appropriate to assist the member of the Alliance that has been attacked.

Romania joined NATO in 2004.

As previously reported, on the night of 4 September, Russia attacked the south of Odessa Region with attack drones for 3.5 hours.
