City authorities of Riga transferred passenger transport to Kyiv

The delegation of the Riga City Hall handed over 11 modern passenger buses and humanitarian aid to Kyiv. Also, the city authorities of Riga are considering the possibility of transferring more than 30 buses to Kyiv. This was announced by the mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko in Telegram.

Today, April 30, our Latvian partners, a delegation from the Riga Mayor's Office, donated 11 modern passenger buses to Kyiv as assistance. As well as humanitarian aid. This is very important for us today. We need to update and increase the public transport fleet. To make the movement around the city, especially in these difficult conditions, comfortable for the people of Kiev, - said Klitschko.

The Mayor of Kyiv thanked the Deputy Mayor of Riga, Edwards Smiltens, for his visit and assistance.

For us, this is evidence of Latvia's solidarity with Ukraine, its capital, with the Ukrainian people in our struggle for our independence and freedom, - he added.

Each bus has a print of a symbolic hugging mural made in Riga by a Latvian artist.

Kyiv and Riga agreed on further cooperation.
