CIA director compares Russia to China's economic colony

CIA Director William Burns said this in a speech at Rice University in Texas, according to Sky News.

Burns believes that Russia is becoming increasingly isolated from the West. In view of this, Russia's dependence on China is growing. Thus, Russia may become an "economic colony" of Beijing.

In some aspects, Russia risks eventually becoming an economic colony of China, dependent on exports of energy resources and raw materials.

It is worth recalling that in February 2023, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken warned China about helping Russia with arms and that this could "seriously complicate relations with the US".
