During the performance of a combat mission, Colonel Igor Bedzai, Deputy Commander of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for Aviation, died.
According to Taras Chmut , director of the Come Back Alive Foundation, Bedzai was a member of the crew of a Mi-14 naval helicopter that was hit by a Russian fighter missile.
One of the best officers of the Naval Forces, Colonel Igor Bedzai, Deputy Commander of the Navy for Aviation, died in the Ukrainian sky. Better known as the former commander of the 10th Naval Aviation Brigade from Novofedorovka, near Sak, Crimea, he noted.
According to Chmut, in 2014, Colonel Bezdai was "almost the only one from the entire command of the fleet who showed leadership and determination."
While everyone was waiting for the mythical "orders from Kyiv," he organized the personnel, prepared the equipment, and, in front of the invaders, overtook all serviceable aircraft to the continental part of Ukraine. And the next day - I repeated this with the one that could not fly on the first day, - he said, adding that thanks to the leadership of Igor Bezdai, Ukraine retained Naval Aviation.
