China joined the sanctions on the supply of equipment to the Russian Federation
At least five Chinese liquefaction equipment companies will stop production of modules for the Arctic LNG-2 project by the end of May.
It is reported by the South China Morning Post.
This is due to the decision of the EU countries on sanctions due to the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
One of the packages banned the supply of technology for gas projects. Chinese companies have been ordered to stop working with Arctic LNG-2 until May 27.
However, according to the publication, one Chinese manufacturer said that "there is no final decision on this issue yet."
The Russian Novatek plant on the Gydan Peninsula was planned to be launched in 2023, relying on equipment from Chinese companies. This plant was supposed to be the largest in the Russian Federation.
