More than 27,000 civilian Ukrainians have suffered from Russian terrorists

Russian military casualties among the civilian population totalled 27,149 Ukrainian citizens - 9,614 killed and 17,535 wounded
Such data are noted in the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) from 24 February 2022 to 10 September 2023, - reports the NGO "Ukrainian Centre for Human Rights Protection".
The killing of civilians, shelling of peaceful cities and civilian objects by the army of the aggressor country are war crimes and crimes against humanity in accordance with Articles 7 and 8 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and a gross violation of the norms of the four Geneva Conventions of 1949 and additional protocols to them," the report says.
Russia killed the most civilians in the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions controlled by the Ukrainian government - 4,262, with another 6,283 people injured.
In the territories temporarily occupied by Russia, 2,133 people were killed and 3,075 were wounded (on the territory that was occupied by the Russian Federation at the time of the death or injury).
Other regions of Ukraine recorded 3,219 dead and 8,177 wounded.
The real number of civilian casualties is much higher and these casualties are increasing daily. Information from some locations where intense fighting continues has been delayed and many reports are still awaiting confirmation.
This is the case, for example, in Mariupol (Donetsk region), Lysychansk, Popasnaya and Severodonetsk (Luhansk region), where there are reports of numerous civilian casualties," OHCHR said.
These are not just numbers - these are real fates, cut short and disfigured lives of people, families, and the country," the organisation's head, Lyudmila Denisova, writes
The Russian Federation must be punished for all crimes!
