Blonzing: how blush is replacing bronzer this winter

Blonding is an easy and effective way to refresh your make-up and give your skin a healthy glow at any time of year. Try this trend and it might just become your favourite way to use blush.
This year, blush is playing a major role in the make-up world. There is a new trend gaining popularity online called "bloning". It is a combination of the words "blush" and "bronzing", and its essence is simple: instead of the usual bronzer, blushes in shades that suit you are used. This approach allows you to create the effect of tanned and rested skin, giving your face a fresh and natural glow.
What is the essence of blonding?
Traditionally, bronzer is used to give the skin a warm shade and imitate a tan. However, standard bronzer shades are not suitable for everyone and can sometimes look unnatural. Blonding offers an alternative: use blusher on the same areas where you would normally apply bronzer.
How to achieve a tanned skin effect with blush?
Choose a shade: Go for warm colours such as peach, coral or rose-gold. These are best for mimicking the natural blush you get after sun exposure.
Areas of application: Apply blush to the protruding parts of the face, which are usually the first to tan:
- Cheekbones: Lightly sweep across the cheekbones towards the temples.
- The bridge ofthe nose: Apply a little blush to the bridge of the nose for a sun-kissed effect.
- Forehead and chin: Lightly touch the centre of the forehead and chin with the remainder of the product.
Blending: Carefully blend the blush so that there are no abrupt transitions. Make-up should look natural and fresh.
Benefits of blonding
- Versatility: Blushes are suitable for all skin types and are easier to match than bronzer.
- Natural look: Warm shades of blush give your face a healthy and rested look.
- Saves money: You can use your existing blusher instead of buying an additional product.
Why try blonding this winter?
On cold winter days, skin often looks pale and tired. Blonding allows you to bring back that summer glow and freshness without having to visit a sunbed or wait for warmer days. It's a great way to lift your mood and add warmth to your look.
Make-up artist tips
- Combine textures: For a more long-lasting effect, use cream blushes under powder blushes.
- Don't forget the highlighter: Apply some highlighter on the top points of your cheekbones and above your lip for an extra glow.
- Be moderate: Start with a small amount of product and add more if needed. It's easier to intensify colour than to remove excess.
