Why did the Russians withdraw troops from positions in Zaporozhye
The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said that Russian forces began to withdraw troops from positions in the Zaporozhye region.
The Telegram channel Ukraine Online News writes about this.
According to the researchers, there may be several reasons - either to transfer the damaged units to the rear areas, or to strengthen the Russian defense in the north-west of the Kherson region, the report says.
Other key findings from ISW:
- Russian troops continued their offensive on Slavyansk southeast of the Izyum region and west of the Liman.
- The Russian army has established control over most of the residential sector in Severodonetsk.
- The invaders are trying to strengthen their operations in Severodonetsk and Lisichansk both from the Toshkovka-Ustinovka region in the south and from the Kupyansk region from the northwest.
