The Ukrainian Internet exploded information about the 13th sign of the zodiac. Now Scorpions have become Serpents, and the others have changed to the next sign.

What to do now, how to live with a new sign?

NASA has added 13 sign of the zodiac. Does NASA know about it?

Before calculating who you are in the new horoscope, I suggest you consider 2 essential factors that will give us answers.

The first factor is a mistake in terms.

We often confuse constellations and zodiac signs. This is unsurprising because the zodiac signs have the same name as constellations.

Indeed, in a year, the Sun passes through the constellations of Aries, Taurus, Gemini ... including the Serpentine. This is not news to us, because the constellations have long been defined and described.

The difference is that the length of the zodiacal constellations along the ecliptic is different (ecliptic is the circle of the celestial sphere on which the annual movement of the Sun relative to the stars visible from the Earth occurs): the greatest length, about 40 degrees, the constellations of Taurus, Virgo and Sagittarius, and the constellation of Scorpio, passes the arc of the ecliptic equal to only 5 degrees.

Therefore, for the convenience of counting the position of the Sun, the ancient Babylonians divided the ecliptic into 12 equal parts, 30 degrees each.

That is, actually, it turns out that signs of the zodiac do not coincide with constellations in extent (even having thus the same name).

The connection of constellations with signs of the zodiac is only symbolic, therefore signs of the zodiac are not affected by the actual position of objects in the sky.

That is, the Serpentine is not considered zodiacal because zodiac signs are tied to the celestial ecliptic and its sectors, not constellations.

Sometimes we forget that Astrology and Astronomy are not the same thing. NASA has shown the difference by writing on its website:

Astronomy is the scientific study of everything in outer space. As a science, astronomy follows a scientific process that includes evidence and data.

Astrology is not the same as astronomy. Astrology is based on the belief that the placement of certain stars and planets in the sky can predict the future or describe what a person is like.

While astrology is important to some cultural traditions, its claims are not based on scientific evidence. By understanding this distinction, we can realise that the location of the Serpentine in the constellation chart will not affect our horoscope in any way.

This is the first good news, after which it is possible to put aside tables with calculations and to live further with the usual sign of zodiac.

But we still have the second factor, remember? This is part of the statute for those who, in the future, do not want to fall for such tricks.

Let's call this factor - work with information.

And let's see if NASA has the right to change the zodiac signs

What is NASA Space Place (the resource where the article appeared)?

NASA Space Place is an educational website about space and Earth science. The site is aimed at upper primary school children.

NASA is an organisation dedicated to astronomy and has nothing to do with astrology. So how can NASA introduce a new zodiac sign if astrology is not scientific knowledge? And scientists don't believe in astrology.

Indeed, if we go to the site NASA Space Place, where the sensational article appeared, we will see that the zodiac signs in the article were out of the question.

The material on the site (by the way, the date of release of the text is 6 December 2022; that is, the article is almost a year old) tells children what constellations are and how NASA uses them in its work. By the way, the term Serpentine is not mentioned once in the article.

And of course, you can't say that NASA added a new zodiac sign because they are not legitimate. Zodiac signs are determined by astrologers, not scientists.

Be in tune with your zodiac sign and avoid being confused.
