Verkhovna Rada recognises Russia's ideology as Rashism

The Ukrainian government has officially recognised Russia's state ideology as Rashism.
A resolution to this effect was adopted at today's meeting of the Verkhovna Rada. The resolution "On defining the existing political regime in the Russian Federation as Rashism and condemning its ideological foundations and social practices as totalitarian and cannibalistic" was supported by 272 MPs.
The state ideology of Russian nationalism, better known as the concept of Russian peace, became the basis for the Russian Federation's policy of foreign expansion with the aim of restoring the Russian empire. The result of this concept is a war against sovereign Ukraine and the genocide of the Ukrainian people. But the aspiration of Russian nationalism is much broader," the explanatory note of the resolution reads.
In addition, the Verkhovna Rada singled out the main features of racism. In particular, the human rights ombudsman singles out:
- massive and systematic violations of human rights both within the Russian Federation and in the temporarily occupied territories;
- putting the ideas of Russian nationalism at the basis of the state ideology, which leads to self-glorification of Russia and Russians at the expense of violent oppression, denial of the right to self-determination, or generally - the right to exist of other peoples.
The Ukrainian government officially condemns the ideology of the Russian Federation and calls on the international community to support condemnation of the policy of racism.
