Ukrainian soldier killed on border with Belarus in Volyn region

serhiy Panasyuk, 33, was killed at an observation post near the village of Tur in Ratnivska municipality at dawn on 25 February 2023. He was serving in the 100th separate brigade of terror defence.

Earlier local media reported that the defender died allegedly as a result of shots fired from the Belarusian side. However, the military deny this information, noting that the man died while performing a combat mission.

Exactly what is known is that the shots were not fired from the Belarusian side. The details will be clarified during the pre-trial investigation.

The Border Committee of Belarus also denied the fact of the shooting, saying"there were no incidents involving the use of weapons; the frontier troops did not open fire.

The military officer's death was entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations (UPRI) under the article on premeditated murder.
